Inhabits estuary of the Sinnamary River. Highly appreciated by the Guianese and is often captured in the "Chinese barricades" (Ref. 35237). Also Ref. 5217. Occurrence in this country not supported by R.T.C. Ramos. However, specimen collected in this country (MNHN 2000-1645), has been recognized as A. achirus by M. Dessouter (pers. comm., 2003). |
